Ron's first project on SOUTHLAND RECORDS ® marks the start of a bright new recording career and the end of the brillant recording career of Jimmy Day. Jimmy played steel guitar on his first #1 hit record with Webb Pierce when he was just 17 years old and continued to play a defining role through his very last Nashville Union Session your about to hear. Jimmy Day will be sadly missed by all ( 01/09/34 - 01/22/99 ), and remembered for his innovative style with his "Blue Darlin" steel guitar.

This 12 song collection brings together some very talented and recognizable songwriters. When good country songs tell a story, create an image, and elicit a strong emotion you know that the musicians and the singers are going to rise to the occasion -- THANKS! The constant theme during the recording sessions was let's make it "real country" and have some fun doing so. We hope that you enjoy these songs for many years.

Ron invited some close friends to sing with him on this project and we would like to extend a special "Thanks" to the guest singers -- what a wonderful contribution to Ron's first project. A special thanks to David McCormick, Cindy Thomas, A.J. Lockett, and Jim Stinson of the Ernest Tubb Record Shops for all they do for Country Music! Last, but not least, "Thanks" to Mark Mosely for the photograph we used for the cover art.

Steve Reed, Executive Producer for SOUTHLAND RECORDS ®

George Jones is the all time greatest singer of country music ever to come along. I've been playing music and making records for five decades. All my life I've heard great "Singers", but no one tops George. My point is, Ron Gaddis must be good, because he's been singing harmony and touring with George Jones since 1981.

So, if you look at it this way, you could use for example one guy who comes to mind "Eldon Shamblin". Eldon played guitar with the "King Of Western Swing -- Bob Wills" for that many years, and it just so happens he's the greatest rhythm guitar player -- EVER!

What I'm trying to say is you can't fake being great that long. I wish for my sake, as the Producer of this album you would give ole Ron a listen. I think you'll like what you hear.
